Scientific Auditor - Cancer Biology & Oncology Research
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (East Bell Rd and the 101)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified Scientific Auditor with expertise in cancer biology to review and evaluate advanced oncology content for accuracy, clarity, and rigor. This is an unpaid internship opportunity designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in scientific auditing and oncology research content development.
The role involves critically assessing scientific material — including exam-style questions, research summaries, and clinical concepts — to ensure correctness, identify misleading information, and maintain the highest scientific standards. You will collaborate with oncology researchers, content developers, and clinical experts to ensure that complex biomedical concepts (e.g., homologous recombination repair, targeted therapy mechanisms, tumor biology pathways) are communicated with precision and supported by current scientific evidence.
Key Responsibilities
Review and audit scientific materials, including:
Oncology-related test questions and rationales (e.g., BRCA1/PARP inhibitor mechanisms, TNF pathway mischaracterizations, chemotherapy drug mechanisms).
Research manuscripts, literature summaries, and technical reports.
Identify factual inaccuracies, scientific red herrings, or misleading statements.
Verify that explanations are scientifically sound, evidence-based, and aligned with current oncology research.
Ensure clarity and accuracy in highly technical biomedical content for both research and educational purposes.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to update or refine content when needed.
Qualifications
Required:
Currently enrolled in an MD or PhD program from an accredited university in one of the following fields:
Biology
Genetics
Biochemistry
Oncology
Chemical or Biochemical Engineering
Related field
3+ years of expertise in cancer biology research.
Extensive knowledge of cancer pathways, tumor biology, molecular mechanisms of therapy, and research methodology.
Proven ability to assess scientific accuracy at a high level of detail.
Preferred:
Prior experience in scientific reviewing, auditing, or peer review.
Familiarity with educational content review (e.g., clinical or board-style question review).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize subtle scientific errors or red herrings.
Excellent written communication skills to clearly explain corrections and rationales.
